Training course for primary school teachers
In 2025, the Museo Egizio, in collaboration with the Istituto Comprensivo Statale di Caselette (TO), the lead institution of the RNFS – National School Training Network Project offered the course entitled “The Museo Egizio: Towards a Mindful Exploration of the Collections. An Immersive Action-Research Experience”.
The course, delivered in a blended format (online and in-person, for a total of 5 hours), aimed to transform teachers’ and students’ perception of the museum as an institution through active participation and the conscious production of content by the students.
In the online session, the Museo Egizio A/R (Andata e Ritorno – There and Back) project was presented as a case study. Launched in 2022, A/R enabled around 230 primary school classes to participate in a learning experience consisting of three sessions, delivered in a blended format of online and in-person activities. The goal was to create a brief guide, written by children for children, to be made available to museum visitors.
Teachers participating in the training course were invited to personally experience the program to understand its methodology and objectives, enabling them to replicate it with their own classes.
At the end of the first session, each participant was assigned an individual task (creating a small museum guide), which was presented in person during the second and final session held at the Museo Egizio.

PCTO
PCTO – Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali e per l'Orientamento (Programs for Transversal Skills and Orientation).
The Museo Egizio collaborates with high schools interested in museum, cultural, and tourism fields to develop PCTO programs tailored to the specific needs of each class, in agreement with their teachers.
Teachers’ proposals, preferably interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary, will be discussed, evaluated, and selected by the Museum’s Education and Training Office. PCTO projects are activated exclusively for entire classes, not individual students. The co-design of the training program aims to create a rewarding and useful experience for all parties involved.
